About Green Orbyt

"Where do I recycle this?" is a simple question that usually leads to a confusing search, outdated blog posts, directories full of closed locations, or a dozen tabs of conflicting information. Green Orbytexists to answer it directly, one item and one location at a time, each individually checked and labeled with its real verification status.

Every fact on this site (an address, a fee, an accepted material) traces back to an official source: a municipal sanitation department, a state environmental agency, or a retailer's own published program. We don't scrape other directories, and we don't guess. When we can't confirm something, we say so instead of filling in a plausible-sounding answer.

That means this site launched smaller than it will eventually be. See the methodology page for exactly how we source, verify, and expand coverage, and tell us if you spot something wrong.

Green Orbyt is an independently operated site, not affiliated with, and not owned or funded by, any government agency, retailer, or program listed here. Its long-term plan is to be supported by clearly labeled display advertising, kept separate from editorial content: advertising never influences which facilities or programs are listed, how they're described, or their verification status. See the Advertise page for details.
