Preparation instructions
Keep chemicals in original, labeled containers when possible. Do not mix materials. Tape both terminals of batteries before drop-off. Sharps must be in a state-approved or hard plastic puncture-proof container with a lid, loose sharps are not accepted.
Accepted items
Also accepts aerosol cans, asbestos (must be professionally abated, wetted, and double-bagged), home-generated sharps and medications, household cleaning products, pool and garden chemicals, and treated or contaminated wood cut to under 3 feet, per LA Sanitation's official items-accepted list.
Not accepted here
Business or commercial waste (see the separate VSQG program for small businesses), acetylene tanks, ammunition and explosives, CO2 and oxygen cylinders, electric-vehicle batteries, exercise equipment, fans/heaters/air conditioners/vacuums, laboratory or medical waste, marine flares, metal light fixtures, and radioactive materials. Ordinary curbside recyclables (glass, plastic, cardboard, paper, metal) and yard waste belong in your blue or green bin instead.
