Donations are open to all City of Houston residents. Taking materials from inventory is open to organizations, non-profits, and community groups (not general residents); nonprofits may be asked to show proof of status.

Preparation instructions

Calling ahead is recommended for questions about acceptable materials; participants are responsible for selecting, loading, and transporting all materials themselves, no pickup or delivery service is offered.

Accepts reusable building materials for donation: lumber, plywood, and paneling; cabinets, countertops, and doors; clean/reusable flooring (tile, carpet); windows, glass, and mirrors; plumbing fixtures (sinks, tubs, faucets); lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, and electrical components; energy-efficient appliances; bricks, pavers, concrete blocks, and stone; and hardware, tools, and general building supplies, per the City of Houston's official Reuse Warehouse page. Items must be free of significant damage, excessive wear, or safety hazards.

Not accepted here

Paint, solvents, and other hazardous materials; construction debris, rubble, or demolition waste; rotten, moldy, or structurally damaged materials; tear-off roofing shingles; appliances that are not energy efficient.
